Ford Pack Joint Couplings

For Copper, PET, PEP or PVC

Metal inserts to be used with PET (PET Inserts) or PEP (PEP Inserts)

How the Pack Joint Works

  • Tightening the large Pack Joint Nut compresses an EPDM beveled gasket to make it watertight around the pipe or tubing.
  • For copper or plastic tubing and pipe there is a split clamp locking device, which is drawn down securely on the tubing or piep by tightening a stainless steel screw. For iron pipe, a stainless steel set screw is provided on the Pack Joint to bite in and lock on the pipe.
  • Machined grooves in the clamp provide additional gripping action.

Installation instructions are shipped with product. Consult pipe or tubing manufacturer for specific installation requirements.

Ford Quick Joint Couplings

The Ford Quick Joint offers traditional Ford features of quality and reliability. This easy to use fitting is available on a wide variety of Ford products. Just stab the copper or plastic tubing into the fitting and tighten down the compression nut to the external stop. That's it! The Quick Joint provides excellent pullout resistance and superior hydraulic blow-off protection. Note: The Ford Quick Joint Nut is NOT interchangeable with other Compression fittings.

For 3/4" - 2" Copper, PET (SDR9) or 3/4" - 1" PEP

Metal inserts to be used with PET (PET Inserts) or PEP (PEP Inserts)

How the Quick Joint Works

  • A large gasket and stainless steel gripper ring are drawn down together when the nut is tightened, providing the hydraulic seal and mechanical restraint.
  • A transparent fluorocarbon coating covers the interior of the nut, providing smooth torque transfer. This coating eliminates "back drive", reduces tightening torque and minimizes gasket distortion.
  • A positive, external and visual stop ensures correct installation, providing maximum gasket seal.

Installation instructions are shipped with product. Consult pipe or tubing manufacturer for specific installation requirements.

Ford Grip Joint Couplings

One Step Coupling For Copper, PET or PEP

Metal inserts to be used with PET (PET Inserts) or PEP (PEP Inserts)

How the Grip Joint Works

  • Tightening the Grip Joint Nut compresses an EPDM beveled gasket to make it watertight around the pipe or tubing.
  • The bronze split ring is drawn down when the nut is tightened, providing the mechanical seal and lock on the pipe.
  • Grip Joint Couplings are manufactured for copper and PET or 3/4" and 1" PEP.

Installation instructions are shipped with product. Consult pipe or tubing manufacturer for specific installation requirements.

Ford Ultra-Tite Couplings

Stab Coupling For 3/4" and 1" PET and PEP

The Ford Ultra-Tite compression coupling provides an immediate lock onto Polyethylene Pipe (PEP/IPS) or Polyethylene Tubing (PET/CTS) when inserted to the internal stop.

(No insert required or recommended)

How the Ultra-Tite Works

  • An integral stop within the coupling ensures full pipe insertion.
  • The directional serrations of the plastic grip ring engage the outside diameter of the pipe or tubing providing a mechanical seal and lock.
  • The internal O-ring provides a hydraulic seal.

Installation instructions are shipped with product. Consult pipe or tubing manufacturer for specific installation requirements.

Ultra-Tite couplings on corporation stops are assembled hand tight and must be removed for drilling or tapping machine adaptation to corporation stop outlet thread. Once the tap is made, the Ultra-Tite should be securely tightened to the corporation stop outlet thread.

Ford Pitorifice Key Corp Stops

In extremely cold conditions, Pitorifice Key Corps utilize mainline water flow to help prevent service line freezing. The Pitorifice copper tube opening on the corporation stop inlet, which faces upstream, continuously channels the warmer, faster moving mainline water through a service line loop. The loop channels water from the main, runs inside a basement (with a tee connection for the customer's plumbing) and returns to the main with another Pitorifice Corp copper tube opening that faces downstream.

The Pitorifice option is available on 3/4" and 1" Ford Key Style Corporation Stops. These are non-stock parts. Please call or write for prices and minimum order quantities. Standard lengths are for direct water main taps; longer lengths for saddles are available.

TO ORDER: Add "-P" to any 3/4" or 1" Corp Stop catalog number for Pitorifice option.

Example: F1000-3-P.

Note: The Pitorifice option is for Key Style Corporation Stops only.

Optional ABS Plastic Upper Section

Available for YL (shallow) Yokeboxes. Plastic Upper Section uses the same bolts as a standard iron upper section to connect to Yokebox base. Accepts both standard locking or lockless lids. Insert "P" into the catalog number.Example: YLP144-233.

Additional Options for Linesetters

Seal Wire Hole in Inlet Valve. To Order add "-SEAL" to catalog number. Example: LSV11-133W-SEAL

Padlock Wings

Most valves are available with padlock wings (except for Minneapolis Valve or where noted). Add "W" to catalog number. Example: B11-333W. "W" in a listed catalog number indicates that the valve is available with padlock wings only.

360° Tee-head Rotation

Standard tee-head stops on the body to permit 90° turn only. Full 360° teehead rotation is available. Add "R" to catalog number. Example: B21-333R.

Reclaimed Water Ball Valve Tee-head

A distinctive tee-head with "Reclaimed Water" lettering for easy identification is available on 3/4" through 2" Ball Valves. Insert "RW" into the catalog number. Example: BRW11-333W. Tee-head sold only with padlock wings.

Valve Lock Caps

Lock caps are available for 5/8" through 2" Ball Valves and 3/4" Angle Key Valves. Ball Valve Lock Caps and Key Valve Lock Caps.

2" Gate Valve Operating Nut

Adapts tee-head on 1-1/4",1-1/2" and 2" Ball Valves (listed on pages 6 - 13) for operation with standard gate valve wrenches. More Info.

Minneapolis Pattern Valve

Threads are available around the valve body in order to attach Minneapolis style curb box. 3/4" and 1" valves have 1-1/2" threads; 1-1/4", 1-1/2" and 2" valves have 2" threads. If an additional size is required other than the sizes listed, please contact the factory for availability.

**Stop-and-Waste Feature

Stop-and-waste valves allow the downstream service line to drain when in the closed position. This feature is typically used to avoid damage to the service line caused by freezing. Valves available with this option are indicated with a double asterisk (**). Add "SW" to the end of the catalog number. Example: B11-333SW.

Handles for Valves

Handles for valves are available. Ordering information and descriptions are found on the following pages: Ball Valve Handles and Key Valve Handles.

Drain/Test Valve Option

Tracer Wire Terminal

Available on 3/4", 1", 1-1/2" and 2" CTS Quick Joint Nuts, add "-TW-Q" to end of catalog number.
